Over the past eighteen years I’ve been pursuing a series of work centered on funnel or vessel-like shapes that were derived from an abstraction of the human figure. The forms could be seen to reflect fundamental aspects of human relationships and communication, notions of transference, giving versus taking, being filled versus empty, of one’s exterior versus interior. An exploration of this work has led from a series of transitory muslin forms to bronze vessel-like forms.
The pieces are shown below in chronological order.
